Spanish League

The Spanish League, officially known as La Liga, is the top professional football division in Spain. Established in 1929, it features a system of promotion and relegation with the Segunda División. La Liga includes 20 teams that compete annually for the championship title. The league is one of the most prestigious and competitive football leagues in the world, renowned for its high level of play and the presence of some of the sport’s greatest clubs, including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The league operates on a round-robin format, with each team facing the others twice, once at home and once away. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. The Spanish League also plays a significant role in European football, as its top teams regularly compete in UEFA competitions.
