Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with goalposts at either end. The main objective of the game is to score goals by advancing a ball into the opposing team’s goal, primarily using the feet, but players can also use other parts of their body except for the arms and hands (with the exception of the goalkeeper). Football is known for its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and skill.

The term “football” can refer to different variations of the sport depending on the country. In most countries outside of the United States and Canada, “football” refers to what is known as soccer in North America. However, in the United States and Canada, “football” refers to American football, which has different rules and gameplay.

Globally, football is governed by FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), with the World Cup being one of the most prestigious tournaments. Football is widely regarded as the world’s most popular sport, played and followed by millions of people across various continents and cultures.
